DELO Appoints Two New Managing Directors

Change in top management

DELO recently appointed Dr. Karl Bitzer and Christian Walther as managing directors. Both have been part of the company management team for many years. Robert Saller, who was a managing director, resigned from the board for personal reasons but remains with the company as an authorized signatory. Sabine Herold and Dr. Wolf Herold, owners of DELO, remain part of the management board.
“Recruiting management from within our own ranks is key to our long-term success as a fast-growing family-owned business,” said Sabine Herold, Managing Partner of DELO. “As much as we regret Mr. Saller’s decision, we are delighted that Dr. Karl Bitzer and Christian Walther, two extremely experienced and valued colleagues, will succeed him.”
Dr. Karl Bitzer studied physics and earned his doctorate in semiconductor physics at Ulm University in Germany and at Columbia University in New York. In 2008, after several years in product management and business development at Siemens, he moved to product management at DELO. Bitzer has been head of the product management division since 2016. As managing director, he will be responsible for strategy, product management, business development and IT.
Christian Walther joined DELO as head of sales, Germany in 2000 after studying physical engineering and holding positions at Rheometric Scientific and Malvern Instruments. Since 2015, he has been responsible for production, logistics and quality management. In 2020, Walther additionally took over the Purchasing and Facility Management departments.
