Data Centres Gain Access to the Global AI Market

Tech company, SwarmOne, has launched a software platform, providing a unique way for data centre owners and managers to access the AI training market. This comes without data centres having to make huge capital investment into the newest and most advanced GPUs, and without any additional personnel costs.

The global AI training market was valued at USD 2.39 billion in 2023. By 2032, this value is expected to reach USD 17.04 billion, with a CAGR of 24.7 per cent during the forecast period. This represents a huge opportunity for companies operating in the data centre industry, but there are two main barriers preventing them from participating.

To join the AI training marketplace, data centres need significant capital investment into thousands of new, advanced GPUs, which comes with soaring HR costs associated with hiring extremely technical, difficult-to-find employees required to operate new systems in the AI training space. Without these two things, data centres are destined to be shut out by the big three cloud providers, who already have these in abundance. The introduction of swarm computing frees data centres from these constraints.

Swarm computing operates using revolutionary new instance-less software stacks, which allows AI training tasks to be seamlessly spread across a swarm of GPUs, increasing the total supply of AI compute power without huge capital investments.  SwarmOne’s software-as-a-service training platform is flexible enough for a data centre to run it on existing infrastructure, with little or no adaptation and is easy to install and manage.

“Many data centre owners are terrified for their future, because they don’t believe that there’s a way for them to compete in the AI training market,” explained Harel Boren, CEO of SwarmOne. “Crypto mining generates far less revenue per kilowatt with every passing month. As a result, data centres must change the way that they operate in order to survive.

“SwarmOne allows data centres to do just this,” continued Boren. “It offers a new way to use GPUs and opens up a whole new market.”

SwarmOne’s model has already proven attractive to data centres, with many already joining the swarm. This includes Applied Digital, a Nasdaq listed company with data centres in operation across North America.
