Samsung Electro-Mechanics Delivers Breakthrough for Automotive Market with New MLCC Offering World’s Largest Capacitance

In order to meet growing demand from the automotive industry for compact MLCCs (multi-layer ceramic capacitors) with increased capacitance, Samsung Electro-Mechanics is unveiling a ground-breaking new solution. The company’s impressive CL32Y106KCJ6PJ# MLCC delivers the world’s largest capacitance of 10 µF for a device of this size (just 1210 inch or 3.2 x 2.5 mm) and voltage rating (100 V).

The number of MLCCs installed in modern vehicles is growing rapidly in line with the increasing functionality of electric vehicles (EVs), advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), autonomous driving (AD) systems, and HEAD Lighting. As a result, the miniaturization, stability, and increased capacitance of MLCCs have become prime market requirements.

Many of these applications are powertrain or safety related, demanding the development of a solution based on many years of design and manufacturing experience in technologies of this type. By applying the company’s proprietary ceramic and electrode material atomization and ultra-precision lamination method, Samsung Electro-Mechanics has come up with a cutting-edge product for the automotive market that overcomes a genuine industry issue.

Mass production of the pioneering new CL32Y106KCJ6PJ# MLCC is now underway. Samples are available upon request.
