Disrupting transportation manufacturing and redefining smart production: Caracol showcases real, production-proven LFAM applications and AI-driven software at Formnext 2025

Caracol, one of Europe’s fastest-growing deep-tech companies and a recognized pioneer in large-format robotic additive manufacturing, will present a major leap forward in its mission to redefine industrial production. At Formnext 2025 (Booth C101 – Hall 12.1), the company will present the new evolution of its Eidos Manufacturing Software Suite — the intelligent backbone of Caracol’s connected manufacturing ecosystem — introducing next-generation features that integrate AI, as well as other manufacturing processes, and advanced sensing to enable more autonomous, adaptive, and high-performance production across its platforms.

Building on a year of significant growth — including the acquisition of Hans Weber Maschinenfabrik GmbH’s additive manufacturing assets and a $40 million Series B funding round — Caracol further consolidates its position as a global leader in digital and automated manufacturing. At Booth C101 – Hall 12.1, the company will unveil breakthrough capabilities that expand the scalability, efficiency, and sustainability of robotic additive manufacturing, setting new standards for high-demand industrial sectors such as aerospace, energy, transportation, and marine.

Eidos Manufacturing Software Suite: intelligence at the core of advanced production

The latest Eidos Manufacturing Software Suite features, developed for Caracol’s robotic platforms in collaboration with leading software and AI companies, now integrate new manufacturing processes, AI, and advanced sensing to enable smarter and more autonomous production. Eidos Builder goes beyond printing to combine Caracol’s advanced slicing, simulation, and additive manufacturing capabilities with other processes such as scanning and milling in fully automated workflows. Eidos Nexus, the IoT and control brain of the platforms, is now powered with AI Control, introducing intelligent features to introduce sensing, learning, and smart control.

Visitors will have the opportunity to delve into the Eidos software experience, see Heron AM and Vipra AM robotic platforms live, touch real-world industrial large-scale parts applications, manufactured by leading companies globally such as Alstom, NP Aerospace and UK Digital Manufacturing Center, JOME, CPC Group — showcasing how it is possible to deliver high-performance parts for advanced sectors such as aerospace, marine, rail, architecture, and automotive sectors. Caracol will also present the world’s first 3D-printed catamaran, created with V2 Boats using its Heron AM platform through a continuous 120-hour build — a world-first milestone proving the scalability and reliability of robotic LFAM for full-scale, end-use composite structures in marine applications.

Disrupting transportation: redefining sea, rail and road

On November 18th at 4:00 PM, Caracol will host a special event at its booth, focusing on innovation and disruption in mobility. The session will open with Giovanni Avallone, Caracol’s Chief Innovation Officer, unveiling the latest Eidos software features, marking a new era of intelligent, autonomous manufacturing.

This will be followed by the panel “Disrupting Transportation: Redefining Sea, Rail, and Road,” featuring top industry voices including Lorenzo Gasparoni (Alstom), Fabio Botti (Ferretti Group), Raul Gonzalo (V2 Group), and Gregorio Delcò (The Cab), moderated by Francesco De Stefano, Caracol’s CEO. Together, they will explore how robotic LFAM technologies are reshaping the future of mobility, from maritime and rail to automotive, by enabling the production of large-scale, high-performance end-use parts. The event will conclude with a networking happy hour, offering an open bar and the opportunity to connect with industry leaders shaping the next generation of advanced manufacturing and sustainable mobility.
