Sweden accelerates AI for entrepreneurs with NVIDIA as partner – launches new AI hub in Gothenburg

Sweden is accelerating its national AI agenda with the launch of AI Gothenburg, a new public-private hub created to make the region the Nordic epicenter for starting and scaling AI-driven companies. The initiative originates from a committed group of private entrepreneurs, working in close partnership with Business Region Göteborg, Business Sweden, leading Swedish industries, and NVIDIA as technology partner.

Set to open in 2026, AI Gothenburg will provide a dedicated hub environment where early-stage founders can rapidly develop, validate, and deploy applied AI solutions together with industry partners.

Rather than focusing on physical scale, the initiative emphasizes the impact of bringing entrepreneurs, engineers, industry partners, and global technology providers into one collaborative environment designed for company creation and real-world deployment. The result is a platform designed to shorten innovation cycles, accelerate commercialization, and enable startups to access the competence and resources needed to grow.

“Entrepreneurs in Gothenburg already drive some of Sweden’s most exciting innovations. AI Gothenburg creates a focused environment where early-stage founders can build real companies faster, in close collaboration with industry and experienced partners,” said Patrik Andersson, CEO, Business Region Göteborg.

“Sweden’s combination of entrepreneurial energy and deep industrial expertise creates a unique opportunity. Through AI Gothenburg and our collaboration with NVIDIA, we are enabling founders to move from promising pilots to production-ready AI that strengthens Sweden’s global competitiveness,” said Andreas Netz, US Head of Invest, Business Sweden.

“Startups need access not only to compute and tools, but to a community that accelerates learning and execution. We are proud to support AI Gothenburg as it empowers entrepreneurs to bring advanced AI applications to market,” said Linda Malm, Regional Manager Enterprise, Nordics NVIDIA.

AI Gothenburg builds on the region’s strengths in key sectors such as mobility, energy, healthcare, manufacturing, and maritime technology, creating a focused environment for applied AI company building.

The hub is designed primarily for early-stage entrepreneurs, while also serving as a landing environment for international AI teams and strengthening Sweden’s ability to attract talent, investment, and new AI companies through close collaboration with industry and global partners.

“It has never been easier to start a company, and AI is accelerating that change. With AI Gothenburg, we want to create the environment that enables a new generation of entrepreneurs to turn ideas into real companies,” said Magnus Emilson, founder Visit Group & co-founder ESS Group.

The initiative aligns closely with Sweden’s national AI priorities and plays a key role in translating national strategy into practical progress. Sweden’s advancements, including early outcomes from AI Gothenburg and similar regional efforts, will be showcased at NVIDIA GTC 2026.
