Jump Start Your Electric Drive Knowledge

Test and measurement specialist launches eDrive Day

To help engineers boost efficiency on the electric drive cycle, Hottinger Brüel & Kjær (HBK) has created the HBK eDrive Day – taking place on 5th December in Gothenburg –  a workshop dedicated to investigating and establishing the best methods.

During the electric motor drive systems’ design process, engineers typically maximizing the torque per amp for as many points as possible. This can be achieved with smart machine design or implementing the appropriate control technique. The inverter, control, and motor must interact smoothly together, but often these items have to be developed separately, which leads to issues such as a competent motor, but poor efficiency in the inverter.

HBK’s eDrive day will see Europe’s leading experts and other eDrive professionals meet to discuss – and troubleshoot – these common issues. Topics include:

  • Principles of measuring torque
  • How to set up your eDrive measuring system correctly
  • Current measurement and current transducers / voltage measurement
  • Measurement uncertainty

Delegates will have plenty of opportunity to ask questions and network with the expert lecturers. The free workshop will be held at Lindholmen Science Park in Gothenberg, Sweden on Tuesday 5th December.

More information, the full program and booking details are available on HBK’s website: Nordic eDrive Day – HBK (hbkworld.com)
