Now in its third year, IPG Power Days “E-Mobility Edition” has once again established itself as a key industry summit for technical decision-makers in the manufacturing industry. Seventy specialists from the fields of production, process development, and system integration attended the event at the IPG European Customer Center in Burbach on April 21, 2026, to engage in focused discussions about current challenges and specific solutions in battery manufacturing and e-mobility.
“We were delighted by the high attendance and strong interest from the industry. The density of technical questions and the open exchange demonstrate how important such events are for the further development of production processes, particularly in the e-mobility sector. The direct dialogue between users and technology providers was especially valuable, as it paved the way for concrete solutions. Following the successful third edition, we are already planning to continue the event next year and look forward to the fourth edition,” said Daniel Lück, Business Development Director.
The morning session focused on application-oriented technical presentations by leading experts from industry and technology. Christoph Nowak and Patrick Fischer (BMW Group) highlighted key challenges in welding battery components and provided insights into process-critical requirements throughout the cell assembly process. Will Carlson (IPG Photonics) demonstrated how integrated vision and subsystem solutions can contribute to process stability and quality assurance. Dr. Jens Theis (Bosch) presented the use of laser technology as a key technology for innovative stator concepts with reduced winding height, thereby addressing specific requirements for efficiency and space optimization. Kyanna-Lee Lacelle (IPG Photonics) provided valuable insights into the next generation LDD real-time laser weld measurement system that increases quality and reduces scrap for EV battery production.
“IPG Power Days clearly demonstrates the importance of direct dialogue between product development, manufacturing, and technology partners. As a provider of laser technology and integrated system solutions, we actively contribute our expertise for industrial applications in e-mobility and create forums where specific challenges can be discussed and explored together. The combination of technical presentations and live demonstrations in particular adds value to this event,” said Trevor Ness, Chief Revenue Officer of IPG Photonics.
In the afternoon, the focus shifted to discovering technologies and solutions at the application level. In their 5,000-square-meter laser application center, IPG experts demonstrated specific process solutions and laser system approaches in realistic scenarios. The live tour gave participants the opportunity to evaluate technologies in real-world operation and discuss their applicability to their own production environments.
The event concluded with an evening networking session in a sophisticated setting, which provided a dedicated space for in-depth technical discussions, the initiation of new projects, and the expansion of strategic partnerships.
With clear focus on technical issues, application-oriented solutions, and direct dialogue among experts, IPG Power Days reaffirms its reputation as a practical event for open discussion and the continued development of modern manufacturing processes in e-mobility.
Interested industry professionals will also have the opportunity to learn more about these technologies and specialized laser systems at Battery Show Europe 2026 in Stuttgart, Hall 1, Booth B50, from June 9 to 11, 2026. IPG Photonics will be presenting laser systems for e-mobility applications and offering practical insights into the manufacturing of batteries and drive components for electric vehicles, as well as other energy storage solutions. The focus will be on both turnkey system solutions for the production of standardized components and customer-specific concepts that enable efficient and scalable integration of laser processing technology into high-volume production.
