RegulatingAI Leads Much Needed Conversations on Ethical AI at World Summit AI 2024

RegulatingAI partnered with World Summit AI 2024 in Amsterdam for this year’s summit, focused on innovations and challenges posed by the rapid advancements in artificial intelligence. The emphasis this year   was on ethical AI and the evolving relationship between humans and machines.

As a key partner at the event, RegulatingAI hosted a series of on-ground podcasts featuring key discussions with AI experts on topics such as AI advancements, the future of AI, and addressing the critical gap between human and machine interaction. The guests were Max Welling, CAIO & Cofounder at CuspAI, Professor of Machine Learning at the University of Amsterdam, Huub Janssen, Manager on AI, Ministry of Economic Affairs/Dutch Authority for Digital Infrastructure, The Netherlands, Dr. Kevin J. Jones, Director, IU Columbus Center for Teaching and Learning, and Associate Professor of Management, Ted Lechterman, Holder of the UNESCO Chair in AI Ethics & Governance at IE University, Hadassah Drukarch, Director of Policy and Delivery at the Responsible AI Institute, Irakli Khodeli, Head of Ethics of AI Unit, UNESCO and Elena Sinel, FRSA, Founder of Teens in AI.

RegulatingAI played a pivotal role in the event’s panel discussions. Sanjay Puri, Founder and President of RegulatingAI, moderated the panel “Addressing Patient Confidentiality and Privacy in Healthcare Applications,” which explored the balance between harnessing AI’s potential in healthcare and ensuring strong patient privacy protections. The session highlighted the importance of regulatory compliance and ethical safeguards in advancing responsible AI innovation.

Sanjay Puri shared his insights on the summit’s achievements, “Partnering with World Summit AI enabled us to engage directly with global thought leaders and innovators to drive critical conversations about AI’s ethical future. Together, we are shaping the frameworks that will guide responsible AI development,” Puri remarked.
