Industrial robot supplier, TM Robotics, has partnered with Magnetic Technologies, to distribute the company’s high quality magnetic brakes to the UK market. The partnership complements TM Robotics’ existing role as distributor for Mobac, a German manufacturer of drive technology and apparatus for wire and cable applications.
TM Robotics is the international distributor for Shibaura Machine, formerly Toshiba Machine, industrial robots. However, the company also boasts expertise in other areas of manufacturing, including wire and cable. International sales manager, Dervish Ibrahim, has over three decades of experience in the industry..
Since 1984, Magnetic Technologies has supplied American-made magnetic brakes to the wire and cable industry from its base in Oxford, Massachusetts. The company’s products include magnetic couplings, permanent magnet hysteresis and eddy current devices, magnetic capping headsets, and advanced payoff solutions.
As part of its partnership with TM Robotics, Magnetic Technologies can provide both off-the-shelf and bespoke solutions to customers in the UK and Ireland.
“Rising demand for wire and cable components means this new partnership has come at a perfect time,” commented Ibrahim. “Having spent 30 years in the wire and cable industry, I am well placed to advise TM Robotics’ clients on their best course of action when selecting wire and cable products.”
“Combining my expertise with the high-quality products made by Magnetic Technologies, the UK market is in safe hands when searching for wire and cable products.”
“At Magnetic Technologies, we have supplied permanent magnet brakes for wire payoff applications for 35 years,” explained Howard Schwerdlin, sales manager at Magnetic Technologies. “As automation becomes a bigger part of the wire and cable industry, so too does the need for more precise tension control. Our latest product, Magnetic Technologies PowerPro24 (MPP24) is a modern, microprocessor controlled constant current digital power supply and tension controller. MPP24 is specifically designed for use with our line of electric hysteresis brakes. Our partnership with TM Robotics will enable customers in the United Kingdom and Ireland to take advantage of our most sophisticated system yet.”
