High-Growth Manufacturing Business Elite KL Limited Receives Private Equity Backing

Midlands based Elite KL is a specialist supplier to the automotive, construction and rail industry Strong domestic performance sets stage for ambitious strategic expansion into Europe

Elite KL Limited (“Elite”), a specialist thermal management business based just outside Birmingham, has been acquired by a private equity syndicate, and will from today trade as an independent entity.

Elite specialises in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning and electric vehicle battery thermal management solutions for the construction, automotive and rail sectors. The business is active in all parts of the value chain from design, validation, supply, and aftercare, operating from its 40,000 sq. ft facility in Tamworth.

The company’s focus is on the vehicle sector, with its lightweight, efficient, and dynamic systems, currently in use among its notable list of customers.

There is increasing optimism surrounding the UK’s manufacturing sector. A 2024 survey of more than 200 senior manufacturing executives by Make UK and PWC found that the majority of Britain’s manufacturers (52.7%) now view the UK as a more competitive place to locate their activities, compared to just 31% one year ago a sector which accounted for ten percent of UK GDP in 2023.

Elite has recorded strong performance in recent years despite the impact of Covid-19, Brexit, and supply chain disruption, benefitting from embedded customer relationships with a median length of 10 years.

Day-to-day operations are managed by a three-person strong management team who has led the business for eight years. All three have been with the business for over 14 years and have worked together as part of the senior team for the last seven years, delivering consistent year on year growth.

A spokesperson for Elite, said: “This is an exciting period of growth for Elite. The West Midlands manufacturing industry has long been an area of high value to the UK economy, employing over 310,000 people, and our ambitious expansion strategy will ensure this remains the case. Our management team has a proven track record of servicing global clients, and we look forward to translating this success across the broader rail and automotive sectors, as we expand into key European markets.
