ByteSnap Design Celebrates Record Sales During First Half of 2021

Electronics design company creates new jobs due to rapid expansion

Award-winning embedded electronics consultancy ByteSnap Design has reported a record year for sales in 2020, up 30% on the previous year despite Covid. In addition, ByteSnap has announced a record-breaking first half to 2021, where the company has experienced 50% growth in sales above the previous year’s first half figures.

Dunstan Power, Director of ByteSnap Design said:This is an exciting phase for the company and we’re delighted at the fantastic performance of our team during a challenging time. We have a loyal customer base and this has been part of our success, with more than 55% of our contracts coming from repeat business from our existing clients, and 85% of our new business is a result of referrals.”

As a result, the growing company is rapidly adding to its team with recruitment underway for four additional team members across its hardware, software and electric vehicle (EV) divisions. There are also further plans for the company to create additional skilled jobs to bring the number of its engineers to 40 from 27 today.

“During COVID restrictions, we developed a successful hybrid approach to homeworking. Key engineering staff were onsite within our design offices, while support staff operated remotely. This model ensured a seamless service to our customers, while also safeguarding our staff.”

A large part of ByteSnap’s software team’s success consists of contracts to support large businesses in the final stages of product design. Recent projects include developing embedded software for parking meters, home automation technology and managing Windows to Linux migration for a range of embedded electronics devices.

Meanwhile, ByteSnap’s hardware team has focused on a number of industrial projects, including smart city design and innovative developments in the IoT sector, such as logistics tracking and sensing; detection software in the fight against human trafficking and theft prevention technologies.

ByteSnap has been in the EV arena since developing new software and electronics for the EV charging stations at the London 2012 Olympics and was later part of a pioneering team that developed ViGiL (vehicle-to-grid intelligent control). ViGiL, a proof-of-concept project, was the UK’s first end-to-end fully integrated Vehicle-to-Grid system. The success of these pioneering projects and increasing demand for electric vehicles prompted the launch of its specialist EV division Versinetic to service EV clients in late 2020.

Versinetic has a growing roster of clients and is expanding in the UK and abroad. Most recently, the consultancy was awarded a Department of International Trade (DIT) grant to internationalise its EV services.

Dunstan Power concluded: “As our experience has grown, so has trust in our consultancy. Big businesses see us as a reliable partner and our larger teams are able to take on six-figure plus projects with ease. The strong growth of the EV sector is no exception; as well as our existing clients, we are fielding worldwide enquiries for our charging sector expertise.”
