Verge Motorcycles Appoints Top Names to Advisory Board – Members Include F1 Legend Mika Häkkinen and Industry Veteran Mark Wilson

Verge Motorcycles, the electric superbike pioneer, has formed an Advisory Board comprising top industry leaders to support its global conquest. The esteemed experts provide motor sports and technology know-how that will be vital for the company’s international expansion. Verge is already enjoying strong growth, and the company is now recruiting top talent for its new Innovation Office in London.

Verge Motorcycles has gained a lot of success worldwide, and its new Advisory Board commands respect in the automotive industry. Verge’s new advisors include Mark Wilson, former CFO of Aston Martin Lagonda PLC and McLaren Automotive, and world-famous F1 legend Mika Häkkinen, both of whom bring valuable expertise to the company.

Cars and motorsport have played an important role in my life, so the opportunity with Verge was irresistible. I believe Verge’s innovation, cutting-edge design and ambitious vision will take the company far. It’s inspiring to be able to support the company’s global growth with my own experience, knowledge and networks,” says Mark Wilson.

Alongside top names in the automotive industry, professionals from other fields have also been invited to Verge’s Advisory Board. Mikko Hyppönen, cybersecurity expert and Chief Research Officer at cybersecurity company WithSecure, brings to Verge insight into the development of technological innovations in his role as advisor.

Safety is a crucial part of the development of advanced motorcycle technology. I’m always looking at ways to safeguard and secure connected things – even if they are moving at 250 km/h,” says internationally respected cybersecurity expert Mikko Hyppönen.

Our ambition is to grow quickly and expand our operations to more and more new markets in the next couple of years, and our advisors will play an important role in this. We are extremely pleased to have this group of world-class professionals behind us. I believe they will be a great help in maintaining our position as the market leader and scaling the business as efficiently as possible,” says Tuomo Lehtimäki, CEO of Verge Motorcycles.

Verge is recruiting top talent for its Innovation Offices in Tallinn, San Francisco and London

Verge has become known for its unique, patented technology – an integrated rim motor inside the rear wheel – that enables a larger battery, longer range and more efficient performance. Awarded for both its innovation and design, the company is constantly looking for new talent to join its team.

In addition to skilled hardware engineers, we at Verge are interested in technological expertise in such areas as connected vehicles, artificial intelligence, next-generation human-machine interfaces, machine vision and sensor-based pattern recognition technologies, for example. We offer our employees an unrivalled opportunity to participate in the development of the future of motorcycles together with our global partners and other experts,” says Marko Lehtimäki, Chief Technology Officer at Verge.

Verge Motorcycles opened an Innovation Office in San Francisco, California, at the start of this year. The company appointed Pekka Pärnänen, who previously worked as a consultant for startups and Finnish export promoter in Silicon Valley, as the Chief Operating Officer of Verge’s US operations. Verge recently opened an innovation office in London.
