Schuler CEO Domenico Iacovelli to Join ANDRITZ’s Executive Board

International technology Group ANDRITZ will appoint Domenico Iacovelli, CEO of its subsidiary Schuler AG, to its Executive Board. Mr. Iacovelli will continue to perform his duties as Schuler CEO, ANDRITZ announced in Graz. On the ANDRITZ Executive Board, the Swiss manager, born in 1976, will take over the management of the Metals business area as well as responsibility for Group Information Technology and Group Manufacturing Management, effective April 2022.

Domenico Iacovelli has been CEO of Schuler since April 2018. Prior to his appointment, he had already held various high-ranking management positions in the ANDRITZ Group and at Schuler itself. Schuler is the leading international specialist for forming technology and has been fully owned by ANDRITZ since 2020. The company serves customers worldwide in the automotive industry, its suppliers, and many other metalworking sectors.

Immediately after taking office as CEO, Mr. Iacovelli had initiated a strategic realignment of Schuler to prepare the company for the dramatic structural change in the automotive industry, the requirements of digitalization, and the opportunities offered by e-mobility and other new technologies. ANDRITZ stated, “Domenico Iacovelli successfully adjusted the Schuler Group to the very challenging market conditions over the past few years and thus laid the foundation for positive development of the company.”

ANDRITZ further announced that Dr. Wolfgang Leitner, Chairman of the Executive Board of ANDRITZ AG, will retire from his position as CEO at the end of the company’s Annual General Meeting scheduled for April 12, 2022, after 27 years of service. Dr. Leitner, who is also Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Schuler AG, is to be succeeded by ANDRITZ Executive Board member Dr. Joachim Schönbeck.
