AOI Systems Launch Full AI Capability on Product Range

AOI Systems Limited, the Automated Optical Inspection machine specialist, introduce full AI capability on its new and existing ScanSpection AOI, FAI (First Article Inspection) and Comparator Systems.

AI enhances the systems by using machine learning to automatically detect defects, identify components, and improve inspection accuracy beyond what image and rule-based systems can achieve.

The Simple Automatic Gold Comparison AI allows the gold board to be generated by just selecting 2 alignment points on the board. The system would then integrate AI-driven technologies to perform a fast, non-destructive analysis of the gold PCBA. The unit under test (UUT) is then loaded, Inspected and the results displayed for the inspector to verify and classify. This integration leads to more efficient, accurate, and adaptable quality assurance, with significant benefits in reduced false positives, faster setup times, and the ability to modify inspection tasks for more or less sensitive inspections.

AOI Systems is a UK Company manufacturing low cost ($25K) AOI for over 23 years with thousands of installations worldwide, with its largest market in North America and Canada, supplying Aerospace, OEM and contract manufacturing. Global customers include, Flextronics, Intel Corporation, L3Harris, Lockheed Martin, Moog, MIT and Northrop Grumman. The AI product range uses a gold standard server that has also been ITAR approved providing confidence and trust in the systems for critical sectors.
