Showcasing the Power of Additive Manufacturing

To show visitors how additive manufacturing (AM) can streamline their factory floor production, Tri-Tech 3D, UK provider of Stratasys 3D printing solutions, is attending the Scotland Manufacturing & Supply Chain Conference & Exhibition. On October 23 and 24, at the Scottish Event Campus, Glasgow, Tri-Tech 3D will be on stand C35. At the show, attendees will see first-hand the benefits of AM technology and the various manufacturing- and engineering-led parts it can produce.

On the stand, visitors can see the Stratasys F370®CR, a composite printer engineered to create high-quality parts for factory floor production. Importantly, it can produce parts using specialist materials that offer a range of properties, including high-tensile strength, and chemical and heat resistance. The system features hardened components and print heads, meaning it can print fixtures, tooling, and other parts using abrasive composite materials, such as ABS/Nylon-CF10 and ABS-ESD7.

To demonstrate the quality of AM parts, Tri-Tech 3D will bring a selection of jigs, fixtures, layup tools and end parts. By having these end parts on the stand, Tri-Tech 3D will demonstrate how AM can transform Scotland’s manufacturing industry by improving production reliability, accuracy and repeatability on the factory floor.

“Manufacturing is critical to Scotland’s economy, employing over 169,000 people, so any opportunities to improve productivity are crucial,” explained Rob Pitts, sales manager at Tri-Tech 3D. “Additive manufacturing is helping manufacturers do this and is empowering them to create new, innovative products that could help drive economic growth.

“This year’s conference and exhibition will highlight some of the challenges facing Scottish industry and showcase the latest innovations — so we’ll be in good company,” added Pitts. “It’s the perfect place to demonstrate the power of AM and how it will transform Scotland’s manufacturing industry.”

Joining the Stratasys team from Tri-Tech 3D will be AM metals specialist Colin Cater, who will be showcasing sample parts manufactured using the One Click Metal M-Print system, along with ceramic parts printed on the XJet Carmel 1400C. Also, from sister company Cadspec, an Autodesk Gold Partner, will be technical sales specialist Nemanja Trajkovic. Nemanja will be offering insights into traditional manufacturing CAM solutions for powering CNC machines, and CAD design creation software and collaboration tools.

At the show, Tri-Tech 3D will also show visitors how to take their 3D printing to the next level. While some people may have already started their AM journey with a low-end desktop system, the team will show how more advanced additive technology can complement traditional production techniques, such as injection moulding and machining.
