Infineon achieves ISO/SAE 21434 certification for AURIX™ TC4x and plans certification for TC3x family

Infineon Technologies AG (FSE: IFX / OTCQX: IFNNY) has achieved a significant milestone in automotive cybersecurity. The company received ISO/SAE 21434 certification for its AURIX™ TC4Dx microcontroller. The certification, granted by TÜV SGS, confirms compliance with stringent cybersecurity standards, ensuring secured development processes and risk management throughout a vehicle’s lifecycle. Infineon is also pursuing ISO/SAE 21434 certification for its AURIX TC3x microcontroller family to help customers meet national and global cybersecurity regulations such as UN R155.

“With AURIX TC4Dx product compliance, customers can enhance their ISO/SAE 21434 related ECU portfolios,” said Thomas Böhm, Senior Vice President Automotive Microcontrollers at Infineon. “This will ultimately allow them to bring their products to market more quickly and more efficiently.”

The ISO/SAE 21434 certification for AURIX TC4Dx provides a range of cybersecurity measures such as Cybersecurity Management to oversee security processes, continuous activities such as monitoring, risk assessment, and vulnerability analysis to proactively identify and address potential threats, along with structured Risk Assessment Methods to systematically identify security risks. The certification also covers the Concept Phase, where cybersecurity goals are defined, and the Product Development Phase, ensuring secured integration and verification. The Post Development Phase includes cybersecurity incident response mechanisms to address potential vulnerabilities after deployment. The certification offers automotive manufacturers a robust foundation for secured and compliant vehicle electronics, reducing development complexity and accelerating time to market.

Infineon is also working towards ISO/SAE 21434 certification for the AURIX TC3x microcontroller family, reinforcing its commitment to cybersecurity. This initiative supports Infineon’s dedication to cybersecurity across the automotive supply chain, ensuring seamless integration from initial design to end-of-life.

These certifications strengthen Infineon’s position as a trusted partner in automotive cybersecurity, providing enhanced security features and compliance support for various applications.
