Huddersfield Precision Component Specialist Set to Inspire Next Generation of Engineers at Stemfest 2026

Accu, the Huddersfield-based precision engineering components supplier, has announced its return to exhibit at STEMFest Yorkshire and Humber – 1st-2nd July 2026 at Events North, Leeds, in a bid to inspire young people with the wide range of career opportunities in engineering.

The two-day event brings together 10- 13-year-olds from across Yorkshire and the Humber for hands-on STEM learning, with more than 50 interactive exhibits showcasing a variety of careers, technologies and equipment. Last year’s event attracted over 2,000 students and 200 educators across three days, with 89% of participating teachers reporting that it helped students understand how STEM subjects connect to real-world careers.

This year, Accu will be bringing its popular robotic football game to the event – an interactive experience designed to demonstrate how robotics is used in everyday applications and to spark curiosity about engineering careers among young visitors. Accu engineers Patrick Faulkner and Ellis Ware will be on the stand offering advice and information to young people.

Alastair Morris, Managing Director of Accu, said: “STEMFest is a fantastic opportunity to connect young people with businesses and show them the breadth of careers available in engineering. We’re particularly looking forward to giving pupils the chance to experience our robotic football game, while sharing how precision engineering is helping to answer some of industry’s greatest challenges.”

Claire Willis, Team Leader at the STEM Hub, said: “After two fantastic years in Bradford, we’re excited to bring STEMFest Yorkshire and Humber to Leeds for 2026. This move reflects the growing scale and ambition of the event, giving us space to welcome even more schools and businesses from across the region and expand access to interactive STEM learning. We’re very happy that Accu has decided to join us again – together, we can inspire the region’s next generation.”

Young people visiting the Accu stand will have the opportunity to speak with engineers who work at Accu and to learn about different career opportunities within the engineering industry.

Accu has a long track record of nurturing engineering talent and inspiring the next generation. The company exhibits at Makers Central, STEMFest and Get Up to Speed, sponsors university societies including Formula Student champions and record-breaking rocketry teams and runs engineering challenges through schools with Kids Invent Stuff. Accu also hosted FightFest – a robot combat-style competition at Smart Manufacturing Week – to spark interest and innovation from a wide range of people.
