Leading manufacturer of high-performance medical power solutions, Accutronics, will showcase its latest innovations at Medical Technology Ireland. The event, being held at Galway Racecourse from September 25-26, 2024, is recognised as Europe’s second-largest and fastest-growing medical device design and manufacturing show. Visitors can find Accutronics at booth L15, where it will display an array of off-the-shelf and custom battery solutions to meet the rigorous demands of the medical and healthcare sectors.
Accutronics brings over 20 years of expertise in battery manufacturing, with a focus on innovation and reliability in portable power solutions. With an in-house team of mechanical and electrical engineers, Accutronics is well-equipped to design, build and test bespoke solutions that meet the specific requirements of any medical device.
On display at booth L15 will be a variety of Inspired Energy standard Lithium-ion batteries, available in a range of voltages from 3.6V to 28.8V. In addition to the standard batteries, Accutronics will presents its power solutions for medical carts, which include an embeddable battery designed for seamless integration, a power system capable of supporting devices up to 150W and a charger that accommodates both USB-C and USB-A devices. These solutions are engineered to enhance the performance and longevity of medical carts, ensuring that healthcare professionals can rely on uninterrupted power during critical operations.
Accutronics will also feature its advanced Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries, which offer a service life of five to seven years — significantly longer than the typical two years associated with lead acid batteries. These batteries are also three times lighter than sealed lead acid batteries of the same capacity, making them an ideal choice for medical devices where weight reduction is essential.
Visitors can explore Accutronics’ Entellion batteries, which are specifically designed for high-power applications such as ventilators. These batteries include the CMX series, which features an easy-to-clean case, and credit card-sized batteries that are perfect for portable and wearable medical devices. For those with unique power requirements, Accutronics also offers custom solutions that can be tailored to specific needs, including considerations for size, weight, cell chemistry and temperature performance.
“The medical industry currently faces increasing pressure to deliver reliable, long-lasting power solutions for devices that are used in an environment where patient safety and operational efficiency are critical,” said Robert Brown, marketing executive at Accutronics. “We’re uniquely equipped to address these challenges, as our advanced battery technologies are specifically engineered to ensure uninterrupted power supply, reducing downtime and supporting the demanding requirements of medical applications. OEMs and design engineers at the show can discuss with us how our products can help to mitigate these industry challenges and improve outcomes for health providers and patients alike.”
