Empowering Automation with Modular Innovation

Beckhoff to showcase MX-System and vision solutions at Automation UK

Automation and control technology specialist, Beckhoff UK, will exhibit at Automation UK, taking place at the Coventry Building Society Arena from May 7 to 8, 2025. The company will be on stand B80, demonstrating how its latest innovations in cabinet-free automation and industrial vision can streamline system design and improve flexibility on the factory floor.

A major highlight of the stand will be Beckhoff’s MX-System — a fully modular, IP67-rated automation solution that replaces traditional control cabinets. Designed for direct machine mounting, the system integrates all automation functionality into compact modules, significantly reducing installation time and enabling rapid reconfiguration for changing production requirements. For machine builders and OEMs, this brings a new level of design freedom, while also supporting sustainability through a reduction in materials and wiring.

Aligning with the event’s co-location with the Vision UK, the leading UK machine vision conference that incorporates the UKIVA Machine Vision Conference, Beckhoff will also present its growing suite of industrial vision solutions. Based on its open PC-based control platform, Beckhoff’s vision offering combines hardware and software integration to support image acquisition, processing and control synchronisation on a single system. This approach simplifies architecture and ensures seamless data flow across automation and quality control tasks.

“Modularity, flexibility and convergence are the key drivers shaping automation today,” explained Mark Richards, UK sales manager at Beckhoff UK. “With the MX-System, we’re showing how machine builders can leave the cabinet behind and embrace fully decentralised control, while our integrated vision solutions demonstrate the power of unified architectures.

“Automation UK gives us the ideal platform to show how these innovations can be applied in real-world scenarios. We get to meet some of our existing customers and hopefully future customers too.”

Visitors to stand B80 will also be able to explore Beckhoff’s other core technologies including TwinCAT software, EtherCAT fieldbus systems and the latest I/O innovations. For more information, or to arrange a meeting ahead of the show, visit Beckhoff UK’s website or contact the team directly.
