Atlas Copco to Showcase Fully Integrated Smart Manufacturing Ecosystem at Advanced Engineering

At this month’s Advanced Engineering show, at the NEC in Birmingham, Atlas Copco will showcase a transformative suite of smart manufacturing assembly solutions. With a bold vision for the future of advanced manufacturing, Atlas Copco is committed to shaping the next era of digitally connected, sustainable, and intelligent manufacturing.

Central to Atlas Copco’s showcase is its Smart Integrated Assembly philosophy, a holistic approach that seamlessly connects tools, factory automation, software and data across production lines. This has the goal of eliminating costly rework and material wastage, with fully traceable, zero-defect assembly, that delivers a more sustainable manufacturing environment.

Empowering industry 4.0 transformation, its 64 square-metre position will feature five core areas: joint fastening, station control; station automation; joining and vision solutions and data driven services. Leveraging secure 5G networks, virtual stations, and AI-driven analytics, Atlas Copco is helping manufacturers to optimise production and transition to fully connected smart factories.

Joining Atlas Copco in the Automotive & Aerospace networking lounge adjacent to its stand (K160) will be representatives from leading manufacturer customers, McLaren Automotive and Red Bull Ford Powertrains, who will be sharing experiences of their digital transformation.

Through continued collaboration, McLaren Automotive and Atlas Copco are pushing the boundaries of production efficiency and delivering greater performance across every stage of assembly. With advanced smart applications and precision tooling, this partnership is setting new benchmarks and shaping the future of agile, data-driven manufacturing.

Red Bull Ford Powertrains is preparing to enter a new era in Formula 1, developing the next-generation power unit that will debut in the 2026 season. Atlas Copco’s advanced tooling and assembly solutions support engineers with reliable tightening, consistent results, and the ability to capture and analyse data from every step of the build. Insights are leveraged to continuously refine and improve processes.

Also supporting Atlas Copco’s networking space will be the University College Birmingham, which will be highlighting the brand-new Battery Manufacturing Skills Pathway (B-MSP).  This training initiative for advanced battery manufacturing is the UK’s first fully accredited and industry-backed programme and it was launched with the full backing of Atlas Copco.

Commenting on its focus at this year’s Advanced Engineering show, James McAllister, General Manager, Atlas Copco Tools and Industrial Assembly Solutions, said:

“As a strategic partner to advanced manufacturing customers in a diverse range of industries, Atlas Copco has delivered proven production efficiencies, by harnessing real-time data insights and hyper flexibility, as part of a smart factory manufacturing ecosystem.  We are looking forward to demonstrating our data-driven approach, which is enabling intelligence gathered from data to facilitate fact-based decision making, which delivers significant tangible value to our customer partnerships. We are delighted to be supported at this year’s show by some of our major customers and industry partners with whom we continue to work closely.”
