Automation and control technology specialist will be exhibiting its range of drive technology, advanced automated systems and open automation software at this year’s PPMA trade show at the NEC, Birmingham from September 27–29 2022. The company will be at stand F60 during the event, showcasing how machine builders and control engineers can introduce modular, flexible layouts to their machinery and setups. Beckhoff will be exhibiting a range of products including the . The XTS has been a hallmark of Beckhoff technology for many years. The XTS is a drive solution in which magnetically driven movers travel along a path of fully integrated motor modules. Beckhoff will also be showcasing the next generation of the XTS at PPMA: the . The XTS with NCT enables contactless, continuous power supply and synchronous real-time data transmission to the XTS movers.
Drive systems are not the only thing Beckhoff will be exhibiting; there will also be a range of advanced automation systems including the . The XPlanar is a planar motor system that is used to levitate 2D product transport with up to six degrees of freedom. The XPlanar is used in different industries, from hospitality to food and beverage. The XPlanar can also be adapted for cleanroom use in the pharmaceutical industry with hygienically adapted movers.
The , a Beckhoff distributed servo drive system, will also be on show at PPMA. This distributed servo drive system is designed for modular machines, whilst being compact and flexible. The AMP8000 combines the with the highly efficient servo drive. This combination, along with cold switch technology, means that power losses are limited to unprecedentedly low levels. At the same time, the mounting space required for electronics is reduced to an absolute minimum.
“We’ve been coming to PPMA for years,” explained Rachael Duckworth, marketing manager at Beckhoff UK. “The show is always consistently high quality and full of people interested in Beckhoff technology.
“We have a range of technology for any sector at the show. But one of the sectors we have really devoted technology to is packaging. We have a large exhibit which explores one PC for all the packaging process steps. We really feel like this is something that a lot of people would find interesting, especially given the supply chain issues currently happening globally.”

TwinCAT Analytics is an automation software that shows a complete workflow — from the acquisition of data, its communication and historization, to analysis and visualization in web-based dashboards, which will also be on the stand, is automation software which combines with an Embedded PC or Industrial PC as the Internet of Things (IoT) controller and provides a seamless connection between the IoT and the Internet of Services.
