Test and measurement specialist, Martindale Electric, has developed a versatile, high-performance insulation tester specifically for commercial and industrial electrical testing, complete with PI and DAR measurement for checking insulation degradation issues.
Ideal for both installation and ongoing service applications, the IN2203 Advanced Insulation Tester combines a wide range of test functions in a single, compact device, including fully functioning insulation tester. It has the ability to measure insulation quality, plus additional handy electrical measurement functions to aid troubleshooting.
The insulation test capability of the IN2203 features five selectable test voltages from 50V up to 1000V, which can measure insulation resistance up to 20G Ohms. It also incorporates a Lo-ohms earth-bond continuity (200 mA) test. For added safety, the live circuit detection check inhibits testing on circuits where voltage is present.
To determine insulation quality and its performance over time, the IN2203 includes measurement capability for both Polarisation Index (PI) – the measure of insulation quality – and Dielectric Absorption Ratio (DAR), for an accurate indication of insulation condition.
Additional measurement functions included as standard with the IN2203 are measurement of AC and DC Voltage up to 1000V, and standard resistance measurements up to 600K Ohms. The device also incorporates a continuity test with an audible buzzer.
Extremely rugged, the IN2203 is supplied with a rubber holster to protect the unit in harsh environments. While the large LCD display with backlight makes it easy to use even in challenging low-light areas like plant rooms or distribution boards. Auto power off after 10 minutes will further prolong battery life. The IN2203 has a safety rating of EN 61010 600V CAT IV / 1000V CAT III.
The IN2203 comes with a Martindale TC57 heavy denier nylon carry case, which will accommodate many different accessories. Plus, the Martindale TL47 unfused test lead set and a user manual are also included for a complete field-ready kit.
