Expleo secures expanded role with Babcock across critical engineering programmes

Expleo, the engineering, technology and consulting services provider, is building on an existing relationship with Babcock International Group (Babcock) to support its programmes across marine, nuclear, land and mission systems, helping it deliver the next generation of UK engineering and defence projects.

The strategic partnership with Expleo following appointment to Babcock’s Engineering Services Framework will provide Babcock with access to Expleo expertise to help advance in technology-led solutions that offer greater efficiencies and value while driving innovation.

“We bring significant expertise across multiple disciplines to this partnership, including extensive experience in providing systems, safety, software, mechanical and electrical engineering support to defence primes and OEMs. By making these capabilities available through Babcock’s framework, we can support evolving programme requirements and help strengthen execution, from initial design through to manufacture, commissioning and in-service support.” said Jonathan Taylor, Managing Director – UK, Expleo.

Expleo and Babcock are building on five years of collaboration across the global defence company’s nuclear and marine businesses. The new five-year framework helps to streamline procurement and strengthen collaboration across Babcock’s global portfolio by working closely with a select number of suppliers.

The established relationship brings specialist engineering expertise to complex programmes, while the next phase expands access to Expleo’s broader engineering, digital transformation and technology capabilities to Babcock’s UK and international operations.

“Over the last five years, we have invested in understanding what Babcock needs from us, where our expertise adds most value and how we can work best alongside their teams. As we expand our support across new areas of the business, our focus is on being a trusted delivery partner, bringing engineering excellence and digital innovation solutions together – to help Babcock solve complex maritime and defence challenges and strengthen programme delivery.” said Andy Brauner, Account Director, Expleo.

The five-year agreement enables Babcock to procure Expleo’s engineering services through a pre-approved process.

The agreement comes as Babcock continues to deliver major programmes across its marine, nuclear, land and aviation businesses.
