Sharp Named ‘Software Development Team of the Year’ at 2025 Software Development Awards

Sharp development team recognised for innovation and impact of Synappx Cloud Print solution

Sharp has been awarded Software Development Team of the Year at the 2025 Software Development Awards. The accolade recognises the exceptional achievements of Sharp’s dedicated software development team, whose work on the Synappx Cloud Print (SCP) solution has set new standards in innovation, scalability, and enterprise-grade reliability.

The team of just five professionals has been instrumental in delivering Synappx Cloud Print (SCP) 1.6, a secure, cloud-native printing and scanning platform that eliminates the need for traditional print servers. By requiring only a lightweight PC client, a Sharp multifunction printer (MFP), and an internet connection, SCP provides organisations with a simplified, scalable, and future-ready approach to print management.

Key innovations introduced in the latest version include:

  • Expanded Sharp MFP compatibility
  • Third-party printer support via SNMP/IPP
  • Automated firewall configuration for streamlined deployment
  • Mobile printing/scanning and email distribution lists
  • Broader cloud storage integrations
  • Authentication, Access Control and Guest Printing Security
  • Enhanced sustainability tracking and administrator tools

This combination of features underscores Sharp’s ability to deliver advanced enterprise functionality while maintaining intuitive usability and robust security.

The judges commended Sharp’s team for demonstrating that impact is not defined by size. With just five members, the team delivered a highly resilient and competitive solution that rivals offerings from global software vendors. Each developer’s expertise in engineering, user experience, and security was cited as a driving force behind the rapid and successful evolution of SCP.

“This award is a testament to Sharp’s commitment to developing innovative software solutions that help organisations adapt to modern workplace demands,” says Claudio Roselli, Head of Product Management and Software Development, Sharp Europe. “The recognition of our Synappx Cloud Print team highlights the depth of talent and dedication across our organisation.”

The Software Development Awards celebrate excellence across the global software industry, recognising the companies and teams who are shaping the future of technology.
