Industry Leaders To Discuss the Digitalization of Upstream and Downstream Operations at AUTOMA 2022

Benefits of digital oilfield, security risks, and the impacts of implementing ML and AI in operations are going to be considered at the Oil and Gas Automation and Digitalization Congress 2022 (AUTOMA 2022). The speakers and delegates from oil & gas companies, EPCs, refineries, and pipeline operators attend the Congress on October, 17-18, 2022 in Milan, Italy.

For the last few years, oil and gas companies have shown a tendency to optimize their processes and maximize their profits by using tech-savvy equipment and smart platforms. For instance, recently Equinor has started production from one of the most up-to-date offshore developments – the Mariner field. It includes a digital copy of a platform, automated drilling and offshore digital workers. The field increases revenue and production in the supply chain.

However, such methods cannot prevent the risks of theft, personal data leaks, and various errors. Thankfully, oil & gas operators could resolve these issues by implementing Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and the Internet of Things (IoT) into working processes. These advanced technologies not only manage, assort and collect data but also provide the safety procedures for accessing information.

By analyzing and collecting data, for example, the measurements from tanks farms and machines, refining operators could make intelligent decisions in boosting efficiency and reducing costs with maintenance. So, basic automation and customized planning tools could be easily applied to existing operational systems. More about the plant of the future is going to be discussed by speakers from AVEVA, Tekfen Engineering and NEUMAN & ESSER Group.

All these topics will be presented at leaders talks at AUTOMA 2022. The format of leaders talk implies the presentation from speakers one by one, and then the discussions between them. Among speakers and delegates are TotalEnergies, Worley, MOL Group, Equinor, Petrofac, Cepsa, McDermott, TANAP, Eustream, KBR, Milazzo Refinery and TUPRAS refineries.

The Congress is a closed-door event. This format implies that there are no random people, only decision-makers of companies, including chief innovation officers, heads of technology departments, leading technical specialists, and digital leads. The agenda of the AUTOMA 2022 covers both business-oriented and technical-oriented topics in the whole value chain of the oil and gas industry: upstream, midstream, and downstream.
