TactoTek® Adds TracXon Solutions to Enhance the Supply of IMSE® Technology and Expand the Supply Chain to Enable Sustainable 3D Smart Surfaces

Finnish IMSE pioneer TactoTek and TracXon, an innovative spin-off of the Holst Centre, have signed a license agreement. As a TactoTek licensee, TracXon Solutions will design and build IMSE functional films, integrating TactoTek’s design rules to enable the supply of functional films for the development of next-generation automotive platforms with smart surfaces. The addition of TracXon as a design and functional film supplier enables TactoTek’s licensees now to access the complete ecosystem for developing unique 3D smart surfaces.

Combination of core technologies makes for a leap in sustainable additive manufacturing

With this license from TactoTek and the combination of TracXon’s innovative capabilities in roll-to-roll (R2R) printing and assembly, TracXon is now a key supplier for sustainable additive manufacturing.  “Our mission to bring Hybrid Printed Electronics to the mainstream as a cradle-to-cradle manufacturing technology is strengthened with the addition of IMSE technology to our capabilities.”, describes Dr. Ashok Sridhar, CEO of TracXon, “Not only do we supply functional films with our R2R process and materials, we can now address a larger array of applications including intelligent lighting and smart human-machine interfaces, but also do it in a sustainable and recycling-friendly manner, thus unlocking multiple benefits to the market. IMSE technology has enormous application potential across several domains, and we look forward to being a key design and manufacturing partner to the interested OEMs and Tier-1s.”

Activating the ecosystem of TactoTek’s Licensees to design, build, manufacture and scale IMSE into new and upcoming automotive platforms

TactoTek’s objective is to build a world-class ecosystem of partners to ensure IMSE technology is the go-to technology for smart interfaces and surfaces. TracXon activates another link in this ecosystem for the supply of functional surfaces and the entire industry can benefit from a sustainable and eco-friendly system design.  According to Marko-Suo Anttila, SVP of Consulting and Services at TactoTek, “TracXon has a crucial role in energizing the ecosystem with their cutting-edge, in-house process development and design support, propelling IMSE technology into new markets. Our partnership ensures a seamless supply of functional films for top-tier brands, revolutionizing next-gen automotive user interfaces.”

The addition of TracXon enhances the IMSE ecosystem, which now covers design and consulting partners, engineering partners, OEMs, Tiers, and an active network of supply chain partners to ensure that IMSE technology smart surfaces can be designed and deployed effectively.
