Xometry Joins Smart Manufacturing & Engineering Week 2026 with Combat Robot Sponsorship and AI Sourcing Roundtable

Xometry, the global, AI-native marketplace connecting buyers and suppliers of custom manufacturing, will participate in Smart Manufacturing & Engineering Week 2026 at the NEC Birmingham on 3 – 4 June.

Date: 3 – 4 June 2026 Location: NEC Birmingham, Hall 5 Event Website: smartmanufacturingweek.com

Xometry will be present across two activations at the show: a live combat robot sponsorship at Accu Presents Fight Fest and a roundtable session at the Manufacturing Digitalisation Summit.

FIGHT FEST: XOMETRY’S COMBAT ROBOT SPONSORSHIP

Xometry is the official sponsor of a full combat robot entry at Accu Presents Fight Fest, running live on the show floor. Xometry’s sponsored robot, Torx, features a precision CNC-machined beater bar produced through Xometry’s on-demand manufacturing network, machined from 42CrMo4 steel, hardened to 40–45 HRC and manufactured to ISO 286 grade 7 tolerances.

The sponsorship is a live demonstration of what on-demand, production-grade manufacturing looks like under extreme real-world conditions.

Representing Xometry’s engineering expertise at Fight Fest is Nikolaus Mroncz, Head of Sales Engineering at Xometry. With over a decade of experience in advanced manufacturing, materials science, and production engineering, including senior roles at GE Additive, Rheinmetall Automotive, and Schmolz + Bickenbach, Nikolaus bridges design intent and manufacturable reality. He will be available for media interviews at the event.

MANUFACTURING DIGITALISATION SUMMIT ROUNDTABLE

Ole Marx, Regional Sales Director EMEA at Xometry, will lead a roundtable session at the Manufacturing Digitalisation Summit titled “Design to Factory: Scaling Smarter with AI-Enabled Sourcing”. Now in its seventh year and co-located within Smart Manufacturing Week, the Summit brings senior decision-makers together for two days focused on real-world digital delivery. Ole’s session will explore how AI-powered sourcing helps manufacturers convert approved designs into reliable production faster, and where key operational bottlenecks remain.

Topics to be addressed include:

  • Where sourcing and supplier delays create the greatest barriers to growth

  • How manufacturers can improve cost, lead-time, and manufacturability visibility earlier in the process

  • What is needed to build a more flexible and resilient production network
