New inverter class for demanding applications

The latest FR-E800 variable speed drive series offers multiple networks and high performance predictive maintenance through AI and built-in corrosive gas alert

FR-E800 is a highly flexible, compact variable speed drive (VSD) series with multiple built-in networks, including TSN (Time Sensitive Networking) without the need for costly option cards and has been released by Mitsubishi Electric to support the needs of smart factories. Not only will OEM machine builders benefit from the E800 but industries including automotive, food & beverage, life sciences and water treatment will benefit from the flexible control capabilities of the E800. Using the Mitsubishi Electric Maisart Artificial Intelligence (AI) system, the E800 reduces downtime with its extended predictive maintenance capabilities featuring the world’s first corrosive gas detection system. The E800 also achieves high performance control of induction and permanent magnet motors and can be incorporated into a Safety Integrity Level (SIL) 3 system.

The E800 series offers increased flexibility by incorporating multiple communication networks without the need for option cards. Major industrial Ethernet networks are supported as standard including; CC-Link IE TSN, Ethernet/IP, Profinet and Modbus TCP/IP. Network flexibility is also increased with two Ethernet ports which support line, ring and star topologies.
