Deeper data analysis, new REST API, and flexible dashboards

New features in FabEagle®MES release v4.3 enhance transparency, connectivity, and user experience

Kontron, a leading global provider of IoT/Embedded Computing Technology (ECT), offers industrial software for cross-industry automation solutions through its subsidiary Kontron AIS GmbH. With the release of FabEagle®MES v4.3, Kontron AIS expands its Manufacturing Execution System with advanced web-based reporting, a REST API for machine integration, and customizable dashboards. These new features enhance transparency, enable deeper data analysis, and bring greater flexibility to PV cell and module production environments.

The new reporting module in the FabEagle®MES web client takes data analysis and production monitoring to a new level. The web client allows users to analyze production data directly in the browser. Equipment, material, and quality data can be evaluated using various chart types, including trend charts, histograms, XY plots, heatmaps, box plots, and material flow diagrams. Production KPIs, process trends, and quality patterns are visualized and available for real-time analysis. This high level of transparency provides a solid foundation for informed decision-making and continuous improvement.

The new REST API for machine integration enables standardized communication of equipment status, alarm data, process and material tracking, and process control. With this, FabEagle®MES lays the foundation for a fully connected production environment. Data exchanged via the API can be used within the MES to automatically calculate and analyze KPIs such as OEE, MTBF, or MTTR. Likewise, Pareto analyses of alarms, SPC-based process evaluations, and track-and-trace functions for materials, intermediates, and finished products can be seamlessly integrated. Features such as material interlocks and recipe selection, validation, and download further enhance process reliability and support sustainable quality optimization.

With the new configurable dashboard in the web client, all stakeholders – from operators to production management – gain a clear overview of all relevant KPIs at any time. The personalized, task-oriented dashboards can be shared with individual users or entire user groups. Predefined and freely configurable widgets provide a quick overview of machine statuses, alarm events, throughput rates, and process and material data. This enables targeted monitoring of performance, yield, and work-in-progress (WIP) for agile production control.
