WEG to demonstrate service expertise at Maintenance 2026

Delivering lifecycle support through advanced services and data-driven technologies

WEG, a global leader in motors, drives and automation solutions, will attend Maintenance 2026, one of Europe’s leading trade events for industrial maintenance, asset management and reliability. From March 25 to 26 at Antwerp Expo, Belgium, visitors to stand 1132 can explore WEG’s services offering, which supports projects across Europe, North Africa, the Middle East and Central Asia, alongside digital monitoring technologies.

Based in Portugal, WEG Service provides lifecycle services for industrial equipment. Operating as an independent service provider, the division delivers spare parts supply, start-up support, commissioning, technical assistance and maintenance services to help customers maintain reliable plant operations.

The service offering extends beyond WEG equipment to include third-party and competitor systems, allowing customers to rely on a single service partner across mixed industrial installations. In addition to technical support, the division collaborates with local organisations as a component supplier and solution provider, supporting a wide range of industrial projects.

“WEG Service allows us to support customers throughout the full lifecycle of their equipment,” said Werner Lievens, managing director of WEG Benelux. “By combining technical expertise with an international service infrastructure, we help operators improve reliability, efficiency and long-term asset performance.”

Alongside its service capabilities, WEG will also showcase its Motion Fleet Management (MFM) platform. The digital system uses cloud computing and Internet of Things (IoT) technology to monitor operating conditions across fleets of motors, drives, gearboxes and other installed equipment.

By collecting and processing data from multiple sources, the system delivers real-time insights that enable plant managers and maintenance teams to make informed decisions and move from reactive to predictive maintenance strategies. Data processing takes place both at the edge and in the cloud. This hybrid approach combines device-level processing with deeper, long-term analysis across entire sites or fleets.

MFM then presents this information through an intuitive dashboard that consolidates key indicators, visualisations and historical records into a single interface. This holistic view allows users to track the condition and performance of individual assets, multiple production lines or entire facilities, simplifying maintenance planning and improving asset transparency.

“Motion Fleet Management reflects WEG’s broader approach to maintenance, combining advanced products with data-driven digital services to support customers throughout the full asset lifecycle,” continued Lievens. “Across industrial sectors, around 28 per cent of EU manufacturers already use IoT to track maintenance needs and many more consider predictive maintenance a strategic priority, reinforcing its value in reducing unplanned downtime, prolonging equipment life and optimising maintenance costs.”

When MFM is used in combination with WEG Motor Scan and WEG Drive Scan, sensors that measure vibration, temperature and operating hours, it can assess asset health, forecast deterioration and recommend predictive maintenance actions. This approach helps reduce unplanned downtime, extend equipment lifespan and optimise maintenance costs.

By combining the practical expertise of WEG Service with digital monitoring technologies, WEG supports customers in managing the performance and reliability of industrial assets throughout their operational lifecycle.
