EOS, a leading supplier for responsible manufacturing solutions via industrial 3D printing technology, has today announced that Ogle Models, a UK manufacturer of prototypes, models and parts has installed an EOS P 770. A laser sintering system for polymer 3D printing, enabling the production of parts of up to one meter in length.
Ogle has a relationship with EOS spanning 20 years, choosing its machines to support growth into new market areas and with new production services for clients. Originally focused on prototyping and model making with over 65 years’ experience, Ogle now produces a wide range of functional models, as well as test and production parts for diverse industries including aerospace, architecture, film & TV, medical and product design.
Philip Martin, Director at Ogle Models, said: “As our business has grown, we have always sought to keep quality at the core of what we do, whilst increasing the range of services offered. Part of what EOS systems give us, is not just the quality of the final build but absolute flexibility in our production workflow. It means when a customer comes to us, we can decide the best processes to use and design their production run around those decisions to get the best result, efficiently and with ease.”
Ogle considered a range of additive manufacturing machines from different suppliers before selecting the EOS P 770. Not only does the system have the largest build area on the market in its category, allowing builds up to 1m in length, but it excels in flexibility, part quality and reducing costs for customers: Thanks to optimized temperature management, improved recoating speed and high-power lasers, the build time and cost-per-part are reduced significantly. The EOS P 770 offers 10 different materials, and 19 material/layer parameter sets for the best build diversity. Its dual lasers use the EOSAME feature to closely monitor energy input and ensure dimensional accuracy throughout the build area.
Philip continued: “We believe the new EOS machine will bring something exciting to many of our customers. SLS is used across a range of our business areas including models, functional prototyping, pre-production parts development and exhibition models to name but a few. The increased build space will allow us to explore new ideas with our customers, and even combine builds for greater efficiency, reduced lead times and cost reduction, whilst still retaining our reputation for exceptional final finish quality.”
Davide Iacovelli, Regional Director EMEA at EOS added: “Ogle has long explored and proven the capabilities of 3D printing, as is shown in its success and diverse range of services. That it has chosen the EOS P 770 as the new system to support its future growth and service offering is a source of pride for EOS and we look forward to seeing the projects it delivers.”
