Making Smarter Decisions with Industrial Data

Industrial automation specialist Novotek UK and Ireland is teaming up with GE Digital to deliver a series of webinars focussed on helping industrial businesses to extract valuable insights from machine data. The webinars aim to demystify the process of harnessing asset, machine and equipment data and turning it into meaningful outcomes for technicians and engineers. The schedule for webinars is listed on the .

The first webinar in the series is taking place on Wednesday April 14, 2021 at 10:00–11:00AM BST. The webinar, titled , focusses specifically on the water utilities industry, covering how water industry engineers can use self-serve analytics to improve operations and solve performance challenges.

The webinar will also highlight a real-world application of how a water utility company used self-serve analytics to enable predictive maintenance practices in the organisation. This allowed the company to predict pump failure up to 16 days in advance, significantly reducing the risk of unplanned downtime and improving water planning accuracy.

“The prospective value of data analytics across all industrial sectors is very well known and widely discussed,” said George Walker, managing director of Novotek UK and Ireland. “Businesses have thousands of assets and data points, each of which can contribute to forming meaningful assessments, insights and outcomes. However, this is only achievable if engineers, technicians and managers can each interact with, and make sense of, that data.

“Although self-serve data analytics are invaluable in all industries, the water industry is one that stands to benefit the most. Water utilities have thousands of assets, with extensive real-time and historical data to inform operations. By equipping technicians and engineers with the tools to effectively analyse data, businesses can achieve various outcomes from enhanced root cause analysis and future performance predictions to automated improvement of quality.

“However, there is a distinction between having an awareness of what can be achieved and achieving those outcomes. Through this webinar, we’ll be combining our expertise with a use case from GE Digital to demonstrate not only what water engineers can achieve, but how they can realise those outcomes.”

Water utilities engineers and technicians interested in registering for the first webinar can sign up via the . For more information on upcoming webinars in the series, contact the company on +44 (0)141 332 1551 or e-mail info_uk@novotek.com.
