~ Automation specialist hosts week-long virtual event sharing insight into drive technology ~

Automation technology expert Beckhoff Automation UK is hosting a week-long series of virtual events to inform mechanical and electrical engineers on the latest drive technologies. The event, taking place May 24–28, 2021, aims to share insights into the practical use of drive technologies, exploring specific topics ranging from control cabinet installation to drive axes commissioning and servicing. is open now.

Beckhoff UK will host five sessions throughout the week, running from 11:00AM–12:00PM BST each day. The sessions will feature an expert from Beckhoff delivering a presentation around a particular topic, including a practical example related to the subject of the session. Viewers will be able to submit questions during the event, which will be addressed by Beckhoff UK in a Q&A section at the end of each session.

The first two days will feature topics of particular interest to both electrical and mechanical engineers. The first day will focus on the challenges in drive technology from both mechanical and electrical perspectives. This will feature an example installation of Beckhoff’s AX8000 control cabinet. Day two will turn its attention to mechanical and electrical design of servo axes with the TwinCAT 3 Motion Designer.

The third day aims to inform electrical engineers about electrical control cabinet construction. This day will feature engineers from Beckhoff showcasing how to effectively assemble systems without the need for an external control cabinet, using the latest servo system technology.

The final two days of the event focus on safety in drive technology, and the commissioning and service of drive axes, respectively.

“Drive technologies are an integral part of modern automation systems. Understanding the latest advancements can help overcome core challenges in the space,” explained Stephen Hayes, managing director of Beckhoff Automation UK. “With this series of events, we want to not only address some of the challenges faced by engineers and technicians, but also provide demonstrations to show that the subject is a practical reality.”

After the event has finished, viewers will have access to recordings of each session to view on-demand until mid-June 2021. Viewers will also be able to speak to representatives from Beckhoff UK for further information on any products or technologies mentioned during the sessions.
